Ethics Violations
You are entitled to
report your lawyer in the case of any ethics violations. You should

Provide the Counsel with a complete description of the events. In most
cases, the information you share will remain confidential.
Ethics include:
Once you have filed
your complaint, your lawyer will be informed about the charges against
him, and he will have to explain his conduct to the disciplinary
committee. Based on his explanation, the committee will decide whether
he is guilty or not. If the charges are serious enough, the lawyer will
face suspension from the bar association. If not, he’ll be let off with
a warning.
It is important to
understand that disciplinary action will not help you to retrieve your
money if your lawyer misappropriated funds. It will only punish the
guilty lawyer. It is beyond the committee’s ability to help you reclaim
your lost money.
